Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) holds the no. 1 slot in the US News & World Report of the top engineering schools in US for 2016. The University has a stellar reputation. A Kauffman Foundation study estimated that the revenues of MIT alumni-founded companies across the world would make the 11th largest economy on earth.

How and when to apply?
Massachusetts Institute of Technology admits smart and talented international students every year. Around 9% of the undergraduate students and 40% of graduate students are from foreign countries.
MIT has two application cycles: Early Action (EA) and Regular Action (RA).
• Interview scheduling deadline: EA – October 20; RA – December 10
• Submission of application form, official transcripts, and standardized test result: EA – November 1; RA – January 1

Fees
The application fee for both US residents and international students is $75. The full-time tuition fee is $44,720 per year for engineering. Massachusetts Institute of Technology offers need-blind admissions, which means, the university will give you enough financial aid to support your education, regardless of how much or how little you can pay.

MIT is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Even though only the freshmen students are required to live on campus, most students remain on campus during their entire duration of education.
